​Early Preseason Award Projections

With all of the best hitters and pitchers already being taken, I feel its possible to project who will win MVP and Cy Young in the AL and NL. Of course, these rankings could change if a team gets good hitting around an MVP candidate or gets a great bullpen to save games for a Cy Young hopeful but in general, the people on these lists should stay about the same.

So here are my early preseason projections for Cy Young and MVP:

AL MVP:

Winner: Jesus Montero (Orioles)

Runner Up: Brett Lawrie (Red Sox)

In the Hunt: Jason Giambi (Athelics), Miguel Cabrera (Rangers), Jacoby Ellsbury (White Sox)

AL Cy Young:

Winner: Justin Verlander (Athletics)

Runner Up: Clayton Kershaw (Mariners)

In the Hunt: Josh Johnson (Tigers), James Shields (Yankees), Ian Kennedy (White Sox)



NL MVP:

Winner: Mike Napoli (Reds)
Runner Up: Chris Parmelee (Cubs)
In the Hunt: Prince Fielder (Rockies), Curtis Granderson (Rockies), Jose Bautista (Cardinals)



NL Cy Young:
Winner: Chris Young (Pirates)
Runner Up: Cole Hamels (Diamondbacks)
In the Hunt: Jered Weaver (Mets), Josh Beckett (Reds), Cliff Lee (Giants)



Also, all of these rankings could change if anyone "In the Hunt" (or who just missed being put on this list) is put on Slump busters. If that happens, I think that player is automatically put as the favorite to win their respective award.

And as said before, new players drafted by all teams can alter the lists a little bit.

Its a long season. And honestly, anything can happen.​
